About Fencing Alliance of Ohio
The Fencing Alliance of Ohio focuses on family, education and fencing. Our program prepares students to be successful in fencing, in college, in life and sometimes in world class fencing. The program is guided by our coaching staff of international caliber passing on their knowledge and experience. We are home to members of the USA National Teams as well as members of international teams.
In 1992, Coach Vladimir Nazlymov came to Kansas City from the Soviet Union. He brought his experience as a three-time Olympic Champion and a proven program of developing world class fencers. The Kansas City Fencing Center soon became a powerhouse in US fencing in all age groups, winning hundreds of medals. A greater degree of success is represented by the high number of KCFC students holding or earning graduate and post graduate degrees.
In 1999 The Ohio State University decided to elevate their NCAA Fencing Team to the highest level. Coach Nazlymov brought his program to OSU and within three years his fencers became top contenders for the National Title. OSU now draws fencers from across the United States and the world.
Many of the finest universities in the US offer fencing scholarships and are seeking students with our high standards of skill, hard work, and dedication. Now Ohio children can benefit from this proven program that develops great people through fencing.

Train to Be Strong

It's Not a Game, and We Don't Play We Fight. In a bout you have an opponent. In competition, your fencing skills are tested. You develop tactics and the ability to think while you act. You learn to control your emotions and become a good sport. When you are on the strip in competition, you are not alone. The team is behind you. Older teammates are there to cheer you on and share their experiences of winning, losing, learning, and growing.
